Jack's E+R=O

Last September, all of the Filipinos stopped on their tracks. Even the whole world stopped and watched. All eyes and ears were focused in the Philippines because of the typhoon Ondoy.
All of the Filipinos who were affected were very scared and shocked on that time. Even those who didn't reach by the storm stopped dead on their homes and offices.
Most parts of Metro Manila and neighboring cities turned into a sea. Even the areas that don't usually flood, like the subdivisions in Marikina, were affected. Well I don't have to repeat all the sufferings of our fellow Filipinos because of that tragic event because we keep hearing them everyday.
I want to focus on the 'HOW'. How did that happen and how do we respond to it. The 'HOW' of Ondoy is the global warming; the 'HOW' of global warming is pollution; and the 'HOW' of pollution is the people. Well, that is the bad part. The good part is also another 'HOW'. How do we respond to it?
We are the victims of that event. That's true. But are we the only one? The very first victim, of course, is our Mother Nature; and the very first predator is US!
Jack Canningham once said, E + R = O; wherein E is to Event, R is to Response, and O is to Outcome. The main point of this formula is that, the Outcome is based on how you Respond to the Event. You see, you can't change all the events but what you can change is the way you respond in accordance on that event. If you keep on doing the way you respond, you will keep on getting the same outcome. But if you don't like the outcome that you are obtaining, then change the way you respond. Simple.
Just like what happened to us when Ondoy came. If we keep on doing what we are doing against our Mother Nature, we will get the same tragedy. Now, what we have to do is simply change the way we act!
It is good to see that we have started to change the system. We began to clean up the Pasig River; there are companies that promote the use of Natural Energy, there are Non Government Organizations who have activities for the benefit of the nature; and there are simple people who are doing their own thing to make a difference. If we continue on doing those things, we will get a very good Outcome.
It's time to act, people!
